Land borders working hours are vary from place to place, some works round the clock, the others are not. It is especially important to check working hours if you are travelling around national holidays or important events. Force majeure like mud slides, avalanches or floods on border crossings based in the mountains may also be a subject to close the border.
Please note visa service is not available at the land borders, which means your Tajikistan visa must be prearranged prior arrival. Please check visa section for details.
Travelling thru Central Asia you can choose to cross at one of the following official land border crossings:
Over Tajikistan/Uzbekistan border: Tajikistan registered vehicles are not allowed to enter Uzbekistan, and Uzbekistan registered vehicles entering Tajikistan are subject for tax. So if you hire a taxi or share a seat, it is likely that you will only be taken as far as the border.
